MINISTRIES

Adult Sunday School

Adult Sunday School classes are meeting in person. If you are not connected to a Sunday School class, now is the perfect time to join one!

The Sharing Hearts Class meets in the large room of the metal building.

Angels at the Alter

During the month of December, St. John's volunteers purchase, wrap, and deliver Christmas gifts to families in our community.

Children's Ministry

From birth to fifth grade, we provide a ministry designed to help foster a strong foundation of faith. We help encourage a faith-filled childhood through education and creativity. We use a curriculum specific to their age and development for our Sunday School and Children's Church.

Vacation Bible School is our largest outreach event and occurs each summer. We also host an annual Easter egg hunt and fall festival.

Choir

Be a part of the music ministry at St. John's by serving the Lord as you lead in worship and praise. If you love Jesus and love to sing about Him there is a place for you in the choir.

Griefshare

Griefshare is a lay-driven ministry to grieving people. This 13-week program includes Christ-centered video instruction, group discussion, and workbook studies. Each session is structured to stand-alone, so you are welcome to start at any time. If you are interested in Griefshare, please contact the church office.

Hand Bells

The handbell music ministry at St. John's UMC is a ministry that is sure to bring joy to all who participate; therefore, if you are interested in serving God as a "Ding-A-Ling" of the handbell ministry, please contact the church office.

Men

The United Methodist Men is comprised of every adult male of St. John's UMC. The purpose of the United Methodist Men is to enjoy good fellowship, deepen our spiritual lives, strengthen the role of men in the church, and motivate service in the name of Jesus Christ.

Prayers and Squares

Prayers and Squares is an interfaith outreach organization that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt. The purpose of Prayers and Squares is to promote prayer through the use of quilts. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt; it's all about the prayers."

Sacks of Love

The Sacks of Love program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children in Kershaw County at times when other resources are not available. We provide easy to prepare foods to take home during the weekends and holiday vacations.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties.

A Stephen Minister is ready to talk and pray with you. Please contact the church office for more details.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is a supportive, inclusive Christian group where women like you grow spiritually, develop as leaders, and serve and work to create a world where all women, children, and youth thrive.
